Transfer Student


Capitol Technology University Scholarships These scholarships, ranging from $4,000 to $10,000, are offered to qualifyingcommunity college students who transfer to Capitol Technology University.Eligible students must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and submit an essay.The scholarship is renewable to students who maintain a 2.8 GPA and complete24 credits each academic year.Transfer Honor Society Transfer students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society or othercollege Honor Society with a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.5, who apply andare accepted full-time by May 1st for Fall semester or November 1st for springsemester, may qualify for a $2000 scholarship. Must enroll in an on-grounddegree program. Renewable each academic year with a 3.5 GPA.

Corporation and Foundation Scholarships and Endowed Scholarships


Numerous scholarships exist for continuing, full-time Capitol students. Eachscholarship has its own eligibility criteria, but most share a commonapplication form.The corporation and foundation scholarships at Capitol Technology Universityreward continuing, full-time students with funds donated by generousbusinesses, foundations and individual donors. It is thehighest academic honor the college confers. This scholarship is for seniorlevel students with at least a 3.5 GPA and who have earned a minimum of 96credits.The Brigadier General Harold R. “Johnny” Johnson and Maria Baciu JohnsonScholarship This scholarship was endowed by the Johnson family and William O. Hider, inmemory of Brigadier General Harold R. “Johnny” Johnson and his wife, MariaBaciu Johnson. The Brigadier General was the fifth president of CapitolTechnology University. This scholarship is for junior level students pursuinga career in innovation, entrepreneurship or business. Applicants must have atleast a 3.0 GPA and have earned 66 – 95 credits.

Successful completion previously of certain college courses may exempt you from taking one or all portions of the Accuplacer; official college transcripts must be received with your application to determine specific test sections that will be required. Find examples of acceptable documents to satisfy the lawful presence documentation requirement here.Frequently Asked Questions about the Accuplacer testWhich Accuplacer tests do I have to take?Life Enrichment students must take and pass the Next Generation Reading,Writing and Mathematics (Arithmetic, Quantitative Reasoning, Statistics, andAlgebra) sections of the Accuplacer test.Students may be exempt from taking one, or all, sections of the Accuplacertest if: * They have satisfactorily completed courses equivalent to ENGL 1101 and MATH 1001 or MATH 111 at regionally accredited institution(s), or * They submit official SAT scores that are no older than seven years and which are at least 500 in both Verbal/Critical Reading and Mathematics, or * They submit official ACT scores that are no older than seven years and which are at least 21 on both English and Mathematics. Is there a cost to take the test?Due to COVID-19, Accuplacer is being administered online via Examity and inperson, by appointment at AU’s Testing and Disability Services center. A feeof $25 is applicable for students taking the test through Examity. The firstinstance of taking an in person test at the TDS center is offered at no cost;necessary retest instances have a $25 fee, per test.What scores must I earn to pass the Accuplacer?Writing = 4 or higher to be placed in ENGL 1101 Reading = 237 or higher to be placed in ENGL 1101 Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics 258 or higher to be placed in MATH 1101/1001 266 or higher to be placed into MATH 1111How many times can I take the test? * If a student does not achieve a minimum placement score on the initial test, the student may re-test two weeks (14 days) after their initial test. If a student does not achieve the desired placement score after the second test, the student may re-test three months (90) days after the first re-test (the second test date). If a student does not achieve the desired placement score after the third test, the student may re-test four weeks (30 days) after the third test. This applies to all subsequent re-tests. * Students are given these breaks in order to have time to focus on improving scores by reviewing practice materials and test descriptions on the ACCUPLACER website to further enhance their understanding of the test.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER STUDENTS


If you are an international student transferring from either a U.S. or foreigninstitution, you are required to apply as an international student. Refer tothe International Admissions webpage.

RETURNING STUDENT


If you were previously enrolled as a degree seeking undergraduate at AugustaUniversity and wish to return as an undergraduate after an absence of twoconsecutive semesters, you must apply as a reentering student. If you werepreviously enrolled as a student at Augusta College, or Augusta StateUniversity prior to Fall 2013, the Office of Academic Admissions no longer hasaccess to any transcripts that you may have submitted for previous admissionsapplications. If you wish to re-apply to Augusta University, you will be askedto provide official transcripts from all outside institutions attended. * Submit a new student application and pay the $55 application fee. * Be eligible for enrollment according to the student’s academic standing at the conclusion of their last semester in attendance at Augusta University AND meet all Transfer Student admissions requirements if the student has attended any other institution(s) since their previous enrollment at Augusta University. * Submit official transcripts for any institutions attended since last enrolling at Augusta University. * Provide Verification of Lawful Presence

Non-degree seeking post-baccalaureate students


A post-baccalaureate is a student that has received a bachelor’s degree fromanother institution and wants to enroll in additional undergraduate levelcourses. They are required to submit their official transcript from theinstitution where they earned their bachelor’s or master’s degree.* * *
